Welcome to Screenity

Record, upload or build scenes, then edit and share your videos with Screenity. You can also use the Chrome extension on its own.

Screenity lets you record, edit and share videos in one place. Build a video from scenes by recording your screen or camera, uploading media, importing an existing video, or creating scenes with text, shapes and images. Then arrange and edit your work, keep it in your library, and share it or download a file.

The Chrome extension is one way to record with Screenity. It also works on its own without an account, with a local player for editing and downloading recordings.

For connected extension recordings, the destination and editing experience depend on the recording mode. Check where your recording was saved before sharing it.

Create with Screenity

  • Start however you like: Record with the built-in recorder or Chrome extension, upload video or images, or import from Loom. In the editor, you can also start a scene from a blank canvas, a template or a saved scene from your library. A scene doesn't have to start with a recording.
  • Build and edit: Arrange scenes, trim or cut sections, change screen and camera layouts, and add text, shapes, images, zooms, music or captions in the editor. You can also edit with the transcript when a transcript is available.
  • Keep your work together: Find and organize your videos in the dashboard and library, then return to them when you need to make changes.
  • Share or download: Share a video link with the access settings you choose, or export a file. The video page can include features such as comments, a transcript and chapters. See sharing a video and viewer settings.

Available options can depend on your video, account and recording mode. Instant recordings open in the viewer rather than the full editor.

Which recorder should I use?

For a local recording without an account, use the standalone extension. When you record from the editor, Screenity can offer Web App or Chrome Extension. The built-in Web App recorder doesn't require installing the extension, but the extension option adds tools such as annotations and click detection. You can also record from the extension with your account. See recording modes and devices for the choices, devices and audio availability.

From recording to sharing

  1. Create: Record, upload or import media, or add a blank scene or template in the editor. Follow the recording guide, upload and import guide or scenes guide.
  2. Review and edit: Use the extension player for a standalone recording, or open a video from your account in the editor.
  3. Keep and share: Download a standalone recording to keep a copy, or save it to Google Drive. For a video in your account, you can export a file or share a link. Check the video's access settings before sending a link.
