Share extension recordings

Choose how to share a recording based on where you saved it, from a local download to Google Drive or a Screenity link.

How you share depends on where the recording was saved.

Share a standalone recording

A standalone recording is saved on your device and is not sent to a server, so Screenity has no link for it. The player has no Share option.

Download your recording and attach or upload the file to a service of your choice. You can also save it to Google Drive and use Drive's sharing options.

To get a Screenity link, record while signed in to an account, or upload the file to the web app.

Share a connected recording

When you stop a recording made while signed in, Screenity opens the web app in a new tab. A standard recording opens in the editor. An instant recording opens in the viewer.

Screenity sets the new video to Anyone with the link and copies its link to your clipboard. Open Share to check or change the access setting before you send the link:

  • In the editor, select Share in the top bar. It becomes available once the video has a scene.
  • In the viewer, select Share. As the owner, you also see Convert to editable here, which makes an instant recording editable. Conversion is permanent.

See Share a video for the access settings, thumbnail, email and embed options. Viewers watch on the share page and have no download button. To send someone a file, export the video yourself.

Account access depends on your subscription or trial.
