Edit a title and description

Rename a video, write its description, or generate a summary from the transcript in the web editor, then review it before sharing.

Give your video a useful title and description so viewers know what it covers. You can write them yourself and, where available, use AI to help with a summary.

Change the title

Open the video in the editor and select its title in the top bar to rename it. Eligible new recordings may receive an automatic title based on their transcript. If you have already named the video, Screenity keeps your title. You can edit an automatic title just like any other title.

Write or generate a description

  1. Open the video in the editor and select Details. Select the description to edit it. You can also edit it from the video's preview page.
  2. Write your own description, or select Generate summary to draft one from the transcript. If there is already text, confirm that you want to replace the draft.
  3. Review and edit the result, then select Save. Select Cancel to keep the previously saved description.

For some recordings with one scene, Screenity may fill an empty description automatically after transcription. It won't replace a description you've written. If the recording changes, Screenity may offer to update an AI-generated summary. Review it before accepting.

In Settings → Preferences → AI and audio, you can turn automatic titles, summaries and chapters for new recordings on or off when those options are available. Generating a summary requires a completed transcript with enough speech. Video length, plan and usage limits can also apply. If generation is unavailable, you can still write the description yourself. Check AI-generated text for accuracy before sharing.

See Add chapters for section markers and Edit with the transcript for correcting spoken words.
