Manage comments and reactions
Turn comments and reactions on or off for a shared video, and learn how viewers add comments, replies and emoji reactions.
Comments and reactions let viewers respond to a shared video when those controls are available. There are two ways to react. Viewers can add an emoji reaction to the video, or react to an individual comment.
- Open Share for the video and select Customize viewer.
- Turn Allow comments on or off to control comments and replies. Turn Reactions on or off to control emoji reactions along the video.
- Open the share page to review the viewer experience.
Add a comment or reply
- Open the comments panel on the share page.
- Enter a comment and choose Post. Comments include the current video time by default. Use the clock control if you want to post without a timestamp.
- Choose Reply on a comment to respond in its thread. Select a timestamp on a comment to jump to that point in the video.
The page may ask for a name before your first comment. You can enter a name or post anonymously.
React to the video or a comment
Use the reaction control on the video player to add an emoji reaction at the current point in playback. To react to a comment, use that comment's reaction control. Reactions on the video and reactions on comments are separate.
Comments and video reactions may be unavailable for instant videos or when the feature is not enabled. Deleting a video also deletes its comments.
