Change the camera background

Blur, remove or replace the background behind your camera in the web editor after recording, without recording again.

For a scene with a separate camera recording, the web editor can separate you from your background after recording. You can then change the effect without recording the scene again.

  1. Open the video in the editor and select a scene with camera footage.
  2. Open Style and find Camera. Select Remove background and wait while the footage is prepared. You can cancel the preparation if needed.
  3. Open the camera Background picker. Choose Light blur or Strong blur, a transparent background, a color or gradient, a preset image, or upload an image of your own.
  4. Preview the result, especially around your hair and edges. Return to the picker to try another background or choose None to show the original background again.

Processing can take time, and the result depends on your footage. Good lighting and space between you and your background can help. This feature may not be available for every scene or browser. If your browser cannot process backgrounds, try a recent Chrome, Edge or Firefox.

This effect changes your camera background, rather than blurring part of your screen. The extension also offers camera background effects during recording. If the camera and screen were recorded together in one video, you can't change the camera background separately afterward.
