Import and upload videos
Upload videos or images to a project, import several videos at once, or bring a Loom video into your Screenity library.
Use Settings → Import to bring videos into separate Screenity projects.
Upload to a project
From the dashboard, choose the upload option to start a project from a video. In the editor, open Create and select Upload a video or screenshot to add media to a scene or create a scene. Wait for the upload to complete, because an unfinished upload may not appear in the library yet.
Use an image or screenshot as a scene
A screenshot or other still image can be a scene's whole picture, in place of a screen recording.
- In the editor, open Create and select Upload a video or screenshot, or open the chevron beside Record in the top bar and choose Upload a new scene.
- Choose Select file, or drag a file in. The window accepts one file at a time, either an MP4 or WebM video up to 250 MB or a PNG, JPG or WebP image up to 100 MB.
- Wait for the upload to finish. The file becomes the scene, or fills the scene if it is blank. An image scene lasts 5 seconds. Drag its edge on the timeline to change the length.
To swap the picture in a scene that already has a recording, open the chevron beside Record and choose Replace with an upload. This replaces everything recorded in that scene, including the camera, and resets its zooms, trims, cuts and speed. For a picture that sits on top of a scene instead, use Image in the top bar. See Use the media library.
Upload multiple videos
- Under Upload videos, select Choose files.
- Select up to 25 MP4 or WebM files, each no larger than 250 MB.
- Follow the progress shown. You can retry failed uploads. Each completed file becomes its own project.
Import from Loom
If Import from Loom is available, paste a link to an individual Loom video and select Import. Only import videos you own or have permission to use. Follow any password prompt and wait for the import to finish.
The Loom video needs Anyone with the link and Allow downloads enabled for import. You can change those settings back after it completes. The screen and camera arrive as one video. Import availability and limits can depend on your account.
