Adjust audio and add music

Add background music or your own audio to a video in the web editor, and adjust voice enhancement and re-recording.

Use the web editor to add background music and adjust recorded audio.

Add background music

Background music belongs to the whole video, not to one scene. Add it once and it plays under every scene.

  1. Open Audio in the editor's side toolbar.
  2. Turn on the switch at the top of the panel. The track Clear skies is selected to start.
  3. Under Library, select a track to switch to it. Use the play button on a track to preview it.
  4. Under Options, adjust Volume from 0 to 100 percent, turn Fade out on to fade the music at the end, and turn Loop audio on to repeat it for the length of the video.
  5. Play the video to check the mix.

To use your own music, select Upload in the library and choose an audio file up to 10 MB. Once uploaded, the tile is labeled Custom audio and plays under every scene. Uploading another file replaces it, and choosing a library track instead removes the uploaded file from the video. Turn the switch off to stop the music.

Enhance or re-record voice

For an eligible scene, select Scene and find Audio. When Enhance voice is available, turn it on and choose an available strength. It reduces background noise and evens out your voice, and it needs a separately recorded microphone track. The original microphone recording is kept, and you can turn enhancement off for that scene.

You can also set Enhance voice on new recordings in Settings → Preferences. This default applies to new recordings. Change the effect for an individual scene in the editor.

To re-record a scene, use its available Re-record control and read the confirmation before proceeding, because this replaces the existing recording. A microphone-only take can be recorded by turning off screen and camera and confirming Record audio only.
