Screenity can offer **Web App** and **Chrome Extension** when you start recording from the editor.

## Web App or Chrome Extension

| Recorder | What to expect |
| --- | --- |
| **Web App** | No extension needed. Does not include click detection. |
| **Chrome Extension** | Provides recording tools such as [annotations](https://screenity.io/help/recording/how-to-make-annotations-in-screenity) and [cursor and click highlights](https://screenity.io/help/recording/how-to-highlight-your-cursor-or-clicks-in-screenity). See [Install the extension](https://screenity.io/help/get-started/how-to-install-the-screenity-extension) if you need to set it up. |

Both options can capture shared tab or system audio when the browser, operating system and selected source provide it. Choose the source and enable audio in the browser's sharing prompt when offered.

The chooser can remember your selection. If the extension is not detected, you can choose **Record with Web App instead**.

## Choose devices and takes

In the recording studio, use the screen, **Camera** and **Mic** controls to turn sources on or off and select available devices. Allow access when prompted. With only a microphone active, the studio asks you to confirm an audio-only recording.

Turn on **Multi** before recording to keep the studio open after each take. Wait for a take to save before starting the next one, then select **Done**. Without Multi, stopping finishes the take and returns you to editing.

To share a recording quickly, you can also use [instant mode](https://screenity.io/help/recording/how-to-set-or-disable-the-countdown-before-recording#use-instant-recording) in the extension while signed in with a subscription. It combines the camera and screen into one video, so you can't change the camera layout separately afterward.
