Captions depend on a transcript of the scene's audio.

1. Open **Captions** in the editor.
2. If offered, select **Generate captions** and wait for transcription.
3. Choose a caption look. See [Style captions](https://screenity.io/help/web-editor/style-captions) for the looks and their settings. Use **All scenes** or **This scene** to choose where to apply the settings.
4. Review the words and timing in the transcript and preview. Correct mistakes before sharing or exporting.

Looks can highlight words as they are spoken, and you can change a look's font, colors, position and background. Use **Details** → **Transcript** to [correct words, change the spoken language or edit the video from its transcript](https://screenity.io/help/web-editor/edit-video-with-transcript). You can choose whether viewers see the transcript in [sharing settings](https://screenity.io/help/web-sharing/viewer-settings). Changing the spoken language creates a new transcript of the original speech. It doesn't translate captions. Translation may be available separately. A scene without audio can't be transcribed.
