The backdrop sits behind the scene's screen, camera and other content. It is separate from the [camera background](https://screenity.io/help/web-editor/change-camera-background) behind a person.

1. Open an editable video and select a scene on the timeline.
2. Open **Backdrop** and choose an available color, gradient or image. Use **Show all** to see more choices where offered.
3. To use your own image, choose **Upload image** and follow the upload prompt. You can select an uploaded backdrop again from the panel.
4. Review the scene in the preview. The backdrop is visible where the scene's content does not cover it. Adjust the [layout](https://screenity.io/help/web-editor/change-layouts) if needed.

To use the same backdrop across the project, select **Apply to all scenes**. This replaces the backdrop of the other scenes. Use **Undo** if you need to reverse the change.
