If the recording toolbar is missing:

1. If your toolbar setting is **Hide toolbar when not in use**, the toolbar is see-through until your pointer is over it. Move the pointer to where the toolbar was and it appears.
2. Check whether the toolbar is outside the visible area. Try resizing the browser window. While recording, you can still pause or resume with `Alt+Shift+M` (Windows/Linux) or `Option+Shift+M` (Mac) or cancel with `Alt+Shift+X` (Windows/Linux) or `Option+Shift+X` (Mac). See [keyboard shortcuts](https://screenity.io/help/get-started/how-to-use-and-set-keyboard-shortcuts).
3. If the setting is **Hide toolbar**, or you used the close button on the toolbar before recording (it shows "Toolbar hidden. Re-enable it in the popup options."), the toolbar stays hidden. If you have assigned a key to **Toggle hide UI** in Chrome, press it again to bring the toolbar back. Otherwise, before your next recording, open the Screenity popup, select **Show more options**, and turn off the **Hide toolbar** switch.
4. Screenity does not show its popup or toolbar on chrome:// pages or the Chrome Web Store. If you start from one of them, Screenity opens its own tab and shows "Extension not supported on tab". You can still record and switch back to the page, but the toolbar and camera will not be visible. Start from a regular web page instead.

If the toolbar remains missing, [contact support](https://screenity.io/help/contact).

Selecting the Screenity extension icon during an active recording finishes it. See [Control a recording](https://screenity.io/help/recording/how-to-pause-or-resume-a-recording).
