Use cursor options to draw attention to actions on a web page.

## How to use the cursor options

The toolbar uses icons instead of text labels. Hover over an icon for a moment and its name appears.

1. Select the mouse pointer icon (**Toggle cursor options**) on the toolbar. The icon changes to match the option you pick.
2. Choose **Highlight clicks**, **Highlight cursor**, or **Spotlight cursor**. Hold `Shift` while you select to combine more than one effect.
3. Select **Default** (the plain pointer) to return to the regular pointer.

**Toggle cursor options** has no default shortcut, but you can assign one in Chrome. See [keyboard shortcuts](https://screenity.io/help/get-started/how-to-use-and-set-keyboard-shortcuts).

These effects apply within supported browser pages. They do not follow the cursor into other applications.

To spotlight an area after recording instead, see [Blur and spotlight an area](https://screenity.io/help/web-editor/blur-and-spotlight) in the web editor.
