# Install the extension

> Install the Screenity extension from the Chrome Web Store, pin it to your toolbar, and open it to start your first recording.

1. Open the [Screenity Chrome Web Store page](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/screenity-screen-recorder/kbbdabhdfibnancpjfhlkhafgdilcnji) and select **Add to Chrome**.
2. Follow the browser's installation prompts.
3. Select the extensions icon (the puzzle piece) in Chrome's toolbar, then the pin icon next to Screenity, so its icon stays in the toolbar.
4. Select the Screenity icon to open the popup. You can [make your first recording](https://screenity.io/help/recording/making-your-first-recording) without signing in.

Right after installing, Screenity opens a setup tab that shows the same three steps. Select the extensions icon, press the pin icon, then select the Screenity icon to start.
